Xylonic acid production from xylose by Paraburkholderia sacchari
نویسندگان
چکیده
Paraburkholderia sacchari revealed an outstanding ability to metabolize D-xylose xylonic acid. The work described here aimed at finding the operational conditions promote production of acid in bioreactors. Fed-batch assays using xylose as sole substrate for growth and attained a concentration 150 g L−1, corresponding productivity 1.5 L−1 h−1 yield over (YP/S) 0.63 XylAc/gXyl. When glucose were used sequentially respectively, concentrations range 370−390 observed, resulting volumetric 6.4–7.7 1.1 gXylAc/gXyl, matching theoretical yield. These very competitive results achieved simple process set-up.

Production of 3-hydroxypropionic acid from glucose and xylose by metabolically engineered Saccharomyces cerevisiae
Biomass, the most abundant carbon source on the planet, may in the future become the primary feedstock for production of fuels and chemicals, replacing fossil feedstocks. This will, however, require development of cell factories that can convert both C6 and C5 sugars present in lignocellulosic biomass into the products of interest. We engineered Saccharomyces cerevisiae for production of 3-hydr...
متن کاملSuccinic acid production from xylose mother liquor by recombinant Escherichia coli strain
Succinic acid (1,4-butanedioic acid) is identified as one of important building-block chemicals. Xylose mother liquor is an abundant industrial residue in xylitol biorefining industry. In this study, xylose mother liquor was utilized to produce succinic acid by recombinant Escherichia coli strain SD121, and the response surface methodology was used to optimize the fermentation media. The optima...
متن کاملProduction of furfural from xylose at atmospheric pressure by dilute sulfuric acid and inorganic salts.
In this paper, the dehydration of xylose to furfural was carried out under atmospheric pressure and at the boiling temperature of a biphasic mixture of toluene and an aqueous solution of xylose, with sulfuric acid as catalyst plus an inorganic salt (NaCl or FeCl(3)) as promoter. The best yield of furfural was 83% under the following conditions: 150 mL of toluene and 10 mL of aqueous solution of...
متن کاملHomofermentative production of optically pure L-lactic acid from xylose by genetically engineered Escherichia coli B
BACKGROUND Polylactic acid (PLA), a biodegradable polymer, has the potential to replace (at least partially) traditional petroleum-based plastics, minimizing "white pollution". However, cost-effective production of optically pure L-lactic acid is needed to achieve the full potential of PLA. Currently, starch-based glucose is used for L-lactic acid fermentation by lactic acid bacteria. Due to it...
